While serving on the Howard County Board of Supervisors, Wilhelm’s priorities have included improving health and mental health services, ensuring the safety of county roads and bridges, and pushing property tax reform.

Mary Jo and her husband, Michael, have been married for 24 years. Michael works at the Donaldson Co. a factory in Cresco. They have two sons currently attending college: Ben is attending
Mary Jo was a Realtor from 1999 to 2005, and has been a certified Residential Appraiser since 2000. She started Wilhelm Appraisers in January 2006. She is a member of Member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Wilhelm said her campaign will focus on talking personally with as many voters as possible.
