Torrey Lauer announces candidacy

For Immediate Release:
6.26.2008.

Germantown, WI – Local business owner, Torrey R. Lauer, of Germantown has announced his candidacy for Wisconsin State Assembly District 24, representing parts of Washington and Waukesha counties, including Germantown, Menomonee Falls, Richfield and Butler.

Lauer has entered the race to relay his positions and philosophy that government needs to run like an effective business, with low overhead and fiscally responsible management, something that has been lacking with the current Assembly majority.

As a fiscally conservative Democrat, Torrey Lauer is running on a platform to stop wasteful government spending and reduce taxes for Wisconsin citizens. Mr. Lauer will go to Madison to close loopholes that allow millions of tax dollars to leave Wisconsin, decrease classroom size, increase access to affordable health insurance, and as a business leader attract more industry and jobs to Wisconsin.

Lauer was raised in Menomonee Falls and has been a Germantown homeowner for the past eight years. He is the son of local business owners and the owner of a local travel agency.

Torrey Lauer is tired of party line politics. He feels it is time politicians listened to their constituents regardless of party affiliation and enacted legislation in the best interest of all Wisconsinites, not just those who contribute the most to their campaigns. Lauer work to clean up Madison and return government to the people.

Lauer states, “Acting as an elected public servant means representing the views of district residents from all walks of life, regardless of wealth, position or party affiliation. When elected to represent this district, I will do what is in the best interest of all Wisconsinites. Together we can make change happen.”

Torrey unveiled his website, www.lauerforassembly.com to create an open line of communication between himself and the people of the 24th District.
