Tim Seip For State House

In Full Swing

Posted Jul 21 at 12 AM

I have been quite busy in Harrisburg, representing your interests and fighting for legislation to; attack property taxes, improve health care, increase energy independence and address other issues important to the 61,513 constituents of the 125th Legislative District.

I was able to move legislation to eliminate unfair “spot appeals” through the General Assembly and to the Governor’s desk on Independence Day.  After months of work, having introduced my bills to outlaw “spot appeals” in September 2007, I was stunned to have the legislation vetoed.  However, this is not over.  I vow to pursue every legislative avenue available to me to enact laws against “spot appeals”, including the override of the vetoes.

I am happy to report that legislation that I authored was signed into law and will allow physicians assistants to broaden their scope of practice and expand their prescribing authority, to free up physicians and reduce health care costs

Support of the energy independence strategy has led us closer to freeing our dependence on foreign oil.  Work I did on the House Energy Committee and on the floor of the House of Representatives cleared the way for a $650 million dollar investment in our energy independence.
It’s great to have the chance to spend more time in the district, to focus on issues important to you.  Now that summer is in full swing, I have been spending time with many of you at community events like;  St John’s Summer Festival in Pottsville, Hegins Community Day and the Klingerstown Fireman’s Carnival.

Watch my website – www.seipforstatehouse.com – for upcoming community events and your chance to share your views with me.    On Friday 25 July 08 we will be in Klingerstown at Benigna’s Creek Winery for our 2nd Annual Wine Fest.  I look forward to seeing you all at this wonderful event.
