GLORIA CACERES FILES FOR NUECES COUNTY COMMISSIONER

Gloria Pledges Hard Work, Accountability and Results in
Precinct 2!

December 10, 2009 - Gloria Caceres wants to put her record of leadership to work on Nueces County Commissioners Court and provide a strong voice for the citizens of Precinct 2 from Corpus Christi to Agua Dulce, Bishop, Banquete and Petronila. Joined by an enthusiastic crowd of supporters, she filed for office in the Democratic Primary.

"I may be 5'2", but I stand tall on the issues," said Gloria. "Today, when our families are pinching pennies and trimming budgets, we need leaders who are accountable for each and every tax dollar.

I believe in basic government and that's why I support a budget that's lean not mean. I'll make the most of every dollar in the county budget."

For more than 20 years Gloria has worked to break barriers and build bridges for a better community. She has devoted her life to public service as a legislative Chief of Staff, election official, substitute teacher and fierce community advocate. Having worked on issues dealing with the Port, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Del Mar, las colonias, industry and local commerce, Gloria knows how to make government serve you more effectively.

A strong, energetic leader, Gloria personifies hard work, accountability and results. Incumbent Commissioner Betty Jean Longoria, the lone woman on Nueces County Commissioners Court, has endorsed Gloria for this seat. Betty Jean will retire after she serves out her term in December 2010.
