Delegate Lewis Receives Award

Delegate Lynwood Lewis representing the 100th District in the Virginia House of Delegates received the VAHP Distinguished Public Service award during the VAHP Legislative Fall Forum in Richmond. The award recognizes his commitment in support of ensuring the availability of affordable health care for all Virginians. The award is given to legislators who provide outstanding leadership on public policy issues facing the Commonwealth.

Delegate Lewis has long been lauded for his approach to complex issues being debated in the legislature. His moderate, pro-business stance on issues is an invaluable asset to the proceedings of the various committees in which he serves. His willingness to engage stakeholders highlights his commitment to understanding all facets of public policy.

Delegate Lewis is serving his third term in the Virginia House of Delegates representing the Counties of Accomack and Northampton and a portion of the Cities of Hampton and Norfolk. Delegate Lewis practices law in the town of Accomac on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. He is a member of the Commerce and Labor Committee, House Finance Committee, the Committee on Agriculture, Chesapeake and Natural Resources and the Militia and Public Safety Committee. He has been appointed to the Chesapeake Bay Commission as well as serving on the Governor’s Aerospace Advisory Council.

In recognition of his service, VAHP will make a $1000 charitable donation in Delegate Lewis’ name to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel Medical Toll Program administered by Eastern Shore Rural Health.
